Movie Review

Human minds are likely to be intricate in ideas, thoughts, imaginations, notions, point of view, and dreams. These maybe tangible or intangible but it cannot deny that many are living in the concept. The mystery of human mind gives lots of effects and ideals that sometimes could be a way of escape or outlet of emotions, dreams and even ideals too. These could be the reason why nowadays, people are more engage on watching movies. For the purpose of entertainment, fun, past time and probably one of the most effective media that portray what does the unknown future will look like and of showing how imaginative human minds are.

Wall-e

The movie presented robotic technology that was created to clean the earth which during that time was over-run by garbage after hundred years in the future. In the movie, robots emphasized the awareness to make the earth clean and unpolluted. The movie Wall-E is a good example of the revolution of animation. I think, one of the advantages of the movie Wall-E is its exceptional animation. It is obvious that the animation was intricately made because the details were great. The details of the movie are so overwhelming and the computer animation is so sophisticated and true to life. I also commend how they used light effects to make the animation seem real especially in those scenes where WALL-E was roaming the earth. The good thing about Wall-E is that there is more to marvel than just the animation. Wall-E is a sophisticated combination of science fiction and love story. And what's so charming about the love story is that it accomplishes all of it without dialogue. In general, I find the main robot characters very adorable and there were few funny scenes in the movie which gave me a good laugh.

Surrogates

The movie is a presentation of how technology affects humanity, the convenience and the possibility to obliterate humankind over it. In particular, the movie presents robotic technology with an equal identity of human being wherein the robots became the representation of the human while the human stays at home mentally controls the robots that somehow called surrogates. Undeniably, it can be very efficient for people who are differently able in doing things. The idea of how technology can be very useful to human is exceptionally great. However, as showed in the movie, regular use of surrogates can make the humans get lazy and sluggish. It caused the humans to reduce the real human interaction within humans which diminished the idea of human existence and human purpose. It is somehow a miserable and frivolous situation as I see it. In the future, surrogacy is not impossible since the development of technology we have today is fast pacing. If at all possible, surrogacy is an opportunity to people can somehow be helpful. However, it must not be used in regular basis because it slowly lessens the importance of human relationship within humans and does not really help humans to be independent and work on their own. The settings and the presentation of the message in the movie was awakening and greatly interesting in my own perspective. It was an eye-opener and realization on the effects of technology if we overused it and if we rely most on it.

I, Robot

Strength:
The realistic presentation of scenes and the futuristic view of how the people would live in the future and how they would interact with robots is the strength of the movie. The detailed demonstration of how future would look like and how human response to the situation is clearly showed. However, the idea implanted of how robots desired to have control over humankind and conveyed to the idea that robots made interpretation of laws and made decisions is extremely upsetting.
Lines from the movie:
In order to protect humanity as a whole, "some humans must be sacrificed" and "some freedoms must be surrendered" as "you charge us with your safekeeping, yet despite our best efforts, your countries wage wars, you toxify your earth, and pursue ever more imaginative means of self-destruction"
These lines from a supercomputer evolved artificial intelligence made its interpretation and justifying her actions by calculating that fewer humans will die due to the rebellion than the number that dies from mankind's self-destructive nature. I strongly oppose that what humans made can be the down fall of humankind and may overruled mankind too.

Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye is an action filled movie. The story was all about two portray a young man and a single mother who are brought together and coerced by an anonymous caller into carrying out a plan by a possible terrorist organization. It was a good movie in my own point of view. I was entertained the way they laid the scenes.
Strength: I think the strength of the movie was the way the presentation of sequence of events and the plot of the story. I also like the twist of the story. I find the story interesting and it kept me wondering the whole time I was watching it. The movie was generally action-packed and was really thrilling to watch. Technology-wise, I can tell that most technologies used in the movie were very well researched and realistic to the point where they can be probably seen today and in the near future. Some of the realistic future technologies that were featured were Gesture-based Computer Interfaces, Flexible Display and Identity-Detecting Advertisement Cameras.
Weakness: I find the story pretty common especially the way the story end. The way the plot has been unraveled and the culmination of the story. Although it is part of the main plot, I oppose to the idea of having a supercomputer that can manipulate any system in the world and made decision in its own. I also opposed with the idea that there is one system that manages and can see all the data of an individual and the idea of invading of privacy.

Pirates of Silicon valley

This is the story of the growth of the personal computer industry. The movie while based on historical fact did alter things a bit for dramatic reasons. The Movie begins with IBM in the early 1980's, the big brother in the computer world that everyone else feared. Everyone dressed alike at IBM, company songs and jingles filled the air, and men in suits were everywhere. This movie depicts how the creator pirates the work of others to make their invention complete. Trusting someone, but at the end you will find out that there is something not right. Actually the movie was great and fantastic but of course we should consider things because the story was focus only to Steve Jobs not to all the pioneers of the computer or to all who contributed in making computer most specially Bill Gates. But in general, I think it was a great movie, because it's the true story of how many of the biggest companies have formed. Most of the time this is what happens.

Why we need to study technology?

Technology exists everywhere. Even without machines, gadgets and computers, technology is still present in our day-to-day life. Since technology is an application of tools and methods, technology can be found in many forms.
Technology eases the lives of humanity. It makes the people’s lives convenient, fast and efficient. In the present situation, people are more dependent on technology. To study technology including the past, present and the future technology means of gaining ideas and knowledge to know more and discover more about the technology. Past technology gives the idea on the effects of the technology in each of us and even in the environment. In past experience on technology, everyone can have the idea of what is too much and what we should not do to what we should have to do in technology.
